Arty

4-wheel Drive Line Follower

Arty is my 2nd line following bot (Mini was my first).  My first time around, I kept it simple with no MCU. This time I went with a DevBoard-M8 with 6-channel ADC and 3-channel PWM.  Having a microcontroller gave me much finer control of the sensors and motors and it has paid off in better performance.  I drive both the steering servo and the ESC directly from the M8. As you can see in the video below, this give the bot great responsiveness and only requires 1 I/O line for steering and 1 for the drivetrain.

Arty competed in Chibot's November contest, taking first place in the Basic Line following contest.

Here is the schematic for Arty: 4x4circuit-v1.pdf
