Good quality boards. Much easier to solder the plated through holes than the single sided boards.
The single side radio shack type boards are nearly impossible to create a picture perfect solder joint.
Good choice for a beginning solderer as these make it possible to get nice solder joints.
I've used the individual small boards to make several small modules to plug into a breadboard by
building the circuits (555 timers & amplifiers) off to one side and placing an upside down square pin header
on the other and making the connections with point-to-point wiring. Keeps me from having to rewire the
circuit on the breadboard if I need it again.
