Digital Race Car Controller

FAQ for DevBoard microcontroller boards

I found a low profile 10k pot from a servo that was thin enough to fit into the handle between the trigger and the housing. It just barely fit. If you don't mind it sticking out the side a bit, you could cut a hole in the casing and glue the pot into place.

I don't have it now or I would have taken some close up pictures of it.

That was the most difficult part of building the track system.

Another option is to make a completely custom controller. There is no actual need to use the same plastic controller that comes with the track. If you're handy with wood, you could carve new controllers and embed the pot and trigger in that. Or, you could use something like Alumilite to make a new plastic controller designed to work with the Pot/trigger design.

It takes a few tries to get used to Alumilite but you can do some cool stuff with it.
